Coffee Filter Grand Peonies

Coffee filters give these grand peonies a more realistic look. I think they keep their shape better when made from coffee filters as opposed to tissue paper.

Started spraying 4 filters with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Sprays.
Spraying 2 filters Cotton Candy Pink, Salt Water Taffy, and the other 2 Hibiscus Rose, Salt Water Taffy and Cape Cod. I dried them with my heat tool.
Then cutting the flower shapes with Spellbindrs Donna Salazar's Grand Peony Creations dies as shown below.

I separated the different flowers and used a ball tool to curl up the edges and my finger to press the centers.

I attached one of each size alternating dark and light petals with some random brads from my stash (the stars were the biggest ones I had lol)

For the centers I used the edges of the leftover filter and dabbed them with Lindy's Stamp Gang Pinapple Paradise, Icy Primrose Gold,Yellow Rose of Texas, and Wild Honeysuckle. I then cut it with fringe scissors I got from Beverly's, but Martha Stewart makes them as well. I rolled them up and trimmed the bottoms because they were a bit too tall.

With the trimmed leftover I used it as a mount under the flower in case I wanted to add a stem.

Put all the pieces together with my glue gun and primped the final touches.  I Cut the leaves with the smallest leaf die size included in the die set. I dabbed it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Bells of Ireland Green.

Hope you like them as much as I do :)

Emboss your Beads!

As I was making theses beautiful poinsettia flowers using my spellbinders dies, I came across the dilemma of how to adorn the centers. I wasn't crazy about the center dies that came with the set because I like more bling and pop! I tried rhinestones and different pearls but wasn't happy with the look I was getting. So I came across these cute flower pearls in my stash and thought to custom color them with my Lindy's Stamp Gang Ceasars Gold embossing powder. I simply cut like 4 of them still attached so it would be easier to work with and pressed them onto my VersaMark pad.  Sprinkled the LSG embossing powder on them and heat embossed.  I do want to say not to hold the heat tool too close or for too long because the liquified powder starts to ooze off the bead.  So for this reason I embossed them twice.  I was so pleased with the outcome I thought I'd share just in case anyone else was having this dilemma. Merry Christmas!

DIY Soft Baby Mary Janes

Having a newborn a 22 month old and 9 year old I find my crafting time is very limited. But I found this adorable Soft Baby Shoe pattern on pinterest (I just love pinning) that I just had to try to make. Now I am no seamstress and my seeing skills are very basic but this was an easy enough challenge for me. The pattern is for sizes newborn to 12 months. You can find the pattern on this blogspot

Now these shoes are so teeny tiny it It took me a while to get used to. I am so glad I didn't quit because I am so pleased with the outcome! I know I'll get super good at it by my 5th pair lol.

Reusable Duct Tape Water Bottle Cozy Tutorial

Sitting at my desk staring at my arrowhead water bottle I can't stand that its not cute looking LOL I know call me crazy but I like looking at pretty things. So I decided to make reusable cozies for my water bottles. This way not only are they cute but with so many water bottles laying around the house you can always identify yours.

Start by cutting a piece of duct tape the same size if not bigger than your water bottle label.  I put a thin strip of velcro on one end.  Then add duct tape on top of the previously cut duct tape and trim.  Put the other end of the velcro to the opposite side of your cozy (see below).

Voila! your cozy is ready to be used and reused!!!
Make cozies for everyone in your house hold using different designs of Duct Tape so everyone can easily spot theirs in the house. No more drinking out of some one else's bottle wondering if it was yours LOL.

Shabby Chic Monitor Frame Tutorial

Ok as promised here is my mini pic tutorial for the shabby chic monitor frame.

First I went to my local Michael's to pick up 2 decorative wood borders (i think they are called) some wood glue, some acrylic paint, velcro tape, a mini miter box, and small wood cutting saw.  I measured the inside of the monitor screen so that I was sure not to obstruct my view with the frame.  I had my hubby cut the 45* angles for me as i didn't want to take the chance of messing it up.

I then glued the corners and secured it with tape.  Took an hour nap since I'm 38 weeks pregnant and that was enough for me LOL.

When it was nice and dry I painted it with AmericanaWarm White acrylic paint to match my furniture.  I also sprayed it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Creme Brulee Creame  for a subtle gold shimmer.

That didn't take long to dry especially when using my heat tool.  I applied velcro to the corners and edges of my monitor leaving the tacky side up so that when I fit the frame to the  monitor I would have a perfect alignment.
****I used Velcro so that I can make different frames later when I get bored of looking at this one LOL.

I attached the unembellished frame for an easier fitting.

I then took my gorgeous I Am Roses Flowers and leaves and decorated the edges. I Tried to keep it simple going for the "Less is More" look.  Plus its easier when taking the frame down if its not too cluttered.
IAR Products used:
2" White Roses R-77-15
1" Cherry Blossoms in Turquoise
1 1/4" White Puffy Flowers
3/8" Soft Blue Semi Open Rosebuds
Small Leaves ZQLO-1
Tiny Green Leaves ZQL O-2

and VOILA...

I finished the whole look off with attaching Shabby Chic shelf liner which I picked up at Michael's to the base so it would wipe up nicely if I got gunk on it.  Now my monitor is not so hideous to look at and it matches my Craft Room YAY!!!

I hope you like my idea and it inspires you to revamp your plain monitor.  I would love to see what you come up with if so :))

I Am Roses May Color Challenge

This is my first time submitting something for anything ever, please so bear with me :)~

I decided to give myself a mothers day gift by revamping my computer monitor with an adorable Shabby Chic Frame.  I got tired of looking at the silver frame that just clashed with my craft room decor so one day I came up with this idea to make it pretty.
This is a picture of the finished product for my submission to the  May IARCC  :Turquoise.  Hope you all like it just as much as i do!

Ok so I finally decided to get a blog.  With 4 daughters I plan on updating my blog with some fun activities ideas and updates on whats going on in my little world as much as i can.  I called it Trinket Junkie becasue that is exactly what I am :)~

So I will open my blog with news of the pregnancy of my 4th daughter.
Today I am 38 weeks along, and this morning I woke up at 4am with cramps and thought it was time to go to the hospital.  My contractions were 30 minutes apart for like an hour and then they subsided.  Nothing else happend the rest of the day so I guess it was a false alarm.  I am truly happy about that becasue we so are not ready yet, my due date is May 26th.  I am supposed to work until the 18th and I have girls coming in to train next week.  I had a doctor appoinment yesterday and the doctor did say the baby has dropped and is in positon.  I took a picture to compare it to pictures I took weeks ago to compare and  yes I seen the difference! Here is the picture I took today. So I can pretty much go into labor any day/minute now.
